The process of transferring the selected elements of traditional culture from the current (the so-called “authentic”) cultural context to a new stage-like or festivities-like space is referred to as the folklorism which finds its own place in the dimension of the contemporary popular culture. Those phenomena are wrongly perceived as an extension of folk traditions, which results in stereotypical ideas about cultural heritage. Folklorism is not an extension of the so-called “traditional folklore”, but rather a qualitatively new phenomenon that is internally diverse and subject to change.
